MOPAN member Dan Ronyak contacted MOPAN Member Legacy Films (via Legacy's listing in the MOPAN Directory) with a reality series show idea. Legacy immediately liked the idea and acquired the property. Two local writers (Dan Schlessinger and new MOPAN Member Steve Lamontagne) have been commissioned to write the series' pilot.

The following is an update on things that have been happening at Legacy Films, Inc. who recently celebrated their 18th year in businessŠ Their feature film, Have You Seen Clem has been picked up by distributor Cinetic Media (Super Size Me, Napoleon Dynamite, Little Miss Sunshine, Bowling for Columbine, etc.) and is available on I-Tunes and/or Amazon.com.

Erich Lyttle (www.erich.tv), Legacy partner and award winning director/ producer, heads up Legacy's partnership in a 10-picture Ultimate Ride Series project with Lionsgate Entertainment and HBO STARZ. The Ultimate Ride is about world class action sports athletes. Two are completed; snowboarder Shaun White in Japan and Kayaker Steve Fisher in Africa; and a third one - about motorcycle daredevil and world record holder Robbie Maddison - is in editing. Stock Footage: Ethan Shiels, Legacy's Director of Photography captured four hours of stock footage featuring scenic Oregon on Super 16mm film. Mountains, lakes, rivers, desert and city scapes are available at www.oregonstockfootage.com

Last December Legacy, in partnership with the Key West Film Society, presented the 4th Annual Edward "Capt'n" Kidd Humanitarian Award in honor of their late dear friend Capt'n Kidd - a giving and beloved homeless man from Key West. Legacy commissioned very talented local artist, writer, sculptor, etc. Denis Mortensen, to design a bronze plaque honoring the Capt'n. Denis presented the plaque to Morgan McPherson (Mayor of Key West) for placement in Key West's famous Sculptor Garden at the entrance to Mallory Square. The event was also attended by Dr. Michael Stoops, Executive Director of the National Coalition for the Homeless. (See photo of the MOPAN website at mopan.org/membernews.html).

In August Legacy and American Happenings, Inc. helped homeless man, Bill Chilcote complete his life's dream of creating a comic book, Ninja Boy Billy-The Meth Avenger. Legacy again commissioned Denis Mortensen to edit, color, and design the cover of the comic book. Michael Richardson, president of Dark Horse Comics, is considering doing a limited run of Bill's comic book with the Dark Horse logo. In development, Legacy has a couple of screenplays, the above mentioned reality series and a game show.
